Contrary to what the name of the device would suggest, the slow cooker actually saves you a lot of time and effort. All you need are some slow cooker recipes and the ingredients mentioned in them to prepare great restaurant quality food in the comfort of your home.
Ingredients for Casserole
The beauty of casserole is that you can eat it in the morning for breakfast, for lunch, as a snack in the evening or for dinner.
You need 6 eggs, 10 slices of bread, a cup and half of milk, 2 cups of sharp cheese that has been grated, sausage ½ lb , some salt and pepper according to your taste and some mustard. Also needed is a nonstick cooking spray.
Preparation
First of all, take the ½ lb sausage and brown it. Then crumble and drain away the remaining fat. Take the bread slices and cut them into quarters. After that, beat the eggs and the milk collectively and prepare a mixture. Add salt and pepper to the mixture and set the mixture aside. You could choose to add some favorite ingredients to the mixture here if you think it would enhance the taste.
Use the cooking spray on the slow cooker to ensure that the food does not stick during cooking. Add layers of the sausage preparation, the shredded cheese and the quartered bread in the slow cooker. Add the beaten egg and milk mixture to the cooker on top of the layer. Then set the timer for 8 hours and the intensity on low.
After that, take out the mixture from the slow cooker and voila, the casserole is ready to serve. This slow cooker recipe is easy and the end result very tasty. The sharp cheddar cheese adds a salty tang, and the middle of the creamy layer is simply delicious. The quantity is enough for 4 people.
