Slow Cooker Recipe – A Mulled Apple Cider

If you own a slow cooker, then you know that they are a great investment. Slow cookers are easy to use, you need very little cooking knowledge, and they save time and you can go to work while the food is cooking at home! They are also completely safe to use, the food does not burn and your house won’t go up in flames if you go wrong. While slow cookers are mainly for cooking food, they do admirably well when it comes to preparing beverages too. Here is a unique slow cooker recipe for preparing a mulled apple cider.

Ingredients

The ingredients for the Mulled Apple Cider are easy to gather. You need a little less than a ½ cup of light brown sugar, 1 and ½ teaspoons of whole cloves, 2 large sliced oranges, 3 single whole cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of whole allspice and 2 quarts of apple cider.

Preparation

You need to mix all the ingredients thoroughly first. You can place all of them directly in the slow cooker to mix them. The mixture should be stirred until the brown sugar has blended completely. Cover the mixture, and then cook on the low setting for 2 – 4 hours. Take out the preparation and strain all the spices. The Mulled Apple Cider is now ready to serve.

This slow cooker recipe is enough for a bunch of people.
The slow cooker ensures that everything is well cooked, and the Mulled Apple Cider comes out perfectly tangy. You could add more sugar if you like it sweet; but most people will prefer less of the brown sugar. This Mulled Apple Cider is exactly as delicious any you could get at a great place. The slow cooking actually lends more taste to the apple cider, and so it could be better than any cider you’ve tasted before.
